The Secret to My Creative Consistency

If you’ve ever wondered what keeps me consistent in my creative practice,
today’s MediClass is dedicated to you.

Dear Artist,

People often tell me they’re impressed by my creative consistency, and honestly, my first reaction is usually, “Me? Consistent, really?!”

Maybe it’s because I’m so close to the process, always focused on what’s next, that I don’t fully register it. But when I take a step back and look at the sheer volume of what I’ve created, it feels surreal.

Over the past seven years, I have:

  • Taken over a million photos

  • Created more than 200 YouTube videos

  • Produced over 300 podcast episodes

  • Made over 200 guided meditations

  • Led more than 500 Artist Morning Lives

  • Written over 1,000 social media posts, Substacks and newsletters

There are 3 foundational beliefs I hold deep within every cell of my body that have fueled every one of these projects.

I think you’ll probably resonate with 2 of the beliefs in today’s lesson. But the 3rd one? You might be on the fence about it…

Also, the guided meditation component today is pretty challenging. The practice I share is one that rocked my world, and it might not be for everyone.

Lastly, I’ve included an integration journal prompt below to help you dive deeper into today’s MediClass and apply these beliefs in your own creative journey.

I’ll be real with you—today’s MediClass has a bit more of an edge. Maybe it’s the full moon energy, but a more direct, unfiltered version of me showed up.

From past experience, I know that sharing this particular story can be polarizing. About 50% of people get uncomfortable or shut down because it’s a sensitive topic and can be confronting. The other 50% seem to really enjoy it and often tell me it was a much-needed wake-up call.

So, which 50% are you? Let’s find out.

Good luck, dear Artist.

  • 7:04 - Belief #3: There is a last breath out there, looking for you.
    (Remember, you must die.)

Integration Journal Prompt:

Please Note: Today’s journal prompt may ask a lot from you, calling for deep energy and courage. Take a moment to check in with yourself and see if you’re in the right space for it today.

  1. When you imagine your very last breath, your final moment on Earth, who do you picture holding your hand? This doesn’t need to be a specific person; it could be the essence of someone—a child, a partner, a parent, or another presence.

  2. Before that last breath finds you, is there something your soul still must explore, experience, or express? What remains undone?

Consistency is NOT About Perfection

As you reflect on your own beliefs, remember that consistency isn’t about being perfect; it’s about staying connected to what drives you.

Whether you resonate with 1, 2, or all 3 of these beliefs, the important thing is that you’re aware of what fuels your own creativity and that you can return to it when things get tough.

Embrace what works for you, challenge what doesn’t, and always keep pushing your artistry forward. The world needs your unique voice, and your consistency will make sure it’s heard.

Big love,

D
